Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Mandylion' is a defining masterpiece of gothic metal that introduced Anneke van Giersbergen as the band's new lead vocalist. The Gathering abandons their death-doom roots for an incredibly lush, atmospheric sound, pairing heavy doom riffs with ethereal, passionate melodies and a profoundly melancholic autumn aesthetic.
