Essentially returning to a solo project for founder Ian Parton, the record steps slightly away from the massive brass and double-dutch hip-hop samples of their past. Instead, it fully embraces heavily distorted, sunshine-soaked indie pop, constructing incredibly catchy melodies out of obscure cassette samples and fuzz pedals. Uncredited, amateur vocalists were scouted globally to give the album an infectiously raw, DIY energy.
