Album Notes & Community Reviews

The first album by New York producer Oliver Chesler as The Horrorist, 'Manic Panic' presents industrial hardcore and EBM in dark, abrasive arrangements built from distorted, rhythmic electronics and Chesler's vocals. It assembled the strongest of the songs he had written to that point, interspersed with what sound like samples from his own answering machine, and carried the singles 'One Night in NYC', 'Flesh Is the Fever', 'The Virus' and 'Mission Ecstasy'; a reissue on Out of Line in August 2004 added a bonus disc of nine songs.
