Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fusing Appalachian folk roots with progressive jazz and idiosyncratic psychedelia, this New York-based collective delivered one of the most delightfully unclassifiable albums of the decade. The incredibly diverse arrangements notably feature drum contributions from jazz legend Elvin Jones, anchoring their bizarre, joyful musical synthesis. Although highly celebrated by critics, the record's avant-garde leanings prevented it from finding mainstream success.
