Album Notes & Community Reviews
Saxophonist Joe Harriott and violinist/composer John Mayer joined forces to create an authentic synthesis of modern jazz and Indian classical structures. Conceived independently of the concurrent psychedelic raga-rock trend, 'Indo-Jazz Fusions' features deeply complex improvisations driven by traditional raga scales and syncopated swing. It is widely heralded as a pioneering masterwork of serious world jazz fusion.
