Recorded amid severe internal fracturing and the departure of primary songwriter Michael Brown, the New York group's sophomore album retains the exquisite neoclassical beauty of their debut. Despite the tumultuous sessions, the remaining members utilized lavish string arrangements and soaring vocal harmonies to deliver a lush, highly sophisticated masterpiece of baroque pop.
