Mount Eerie

by The Microphones

Mount Eerie cover art

'Mount Eerie' is a five-song concept album that presents a linear, metaphysical narrative about life, death, and the vastness of the universe. [1] Sonically, the work merges experimental rock and psychedelic folk, contrasting gentle, melodic passages and choirs with distorted bass, cinematic drums, and sections of chaotic noise. [2, 3, 7] This record acts as the thematic and nominal bridge between Phil Elverum's work as The Microphones and his subsequent project, which he named Mount Eerie after this album's release.
