A satirical masterpiece from Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention, 'We're Only in It for the Money' is a scathing critique of both mainstream society and the hippie counterculture of the 1960s. The album is a complex collage of short songs, sound effects, and studio experimentation, all wrapped in a parody of The Beatles' 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.' Its sharp wit, musical inventiveness, and uncompromising social commentary make it one of Zappa's most enduring and significant works.
