Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded simultaneously with the debut album of their impending new project, the Electric Light Orchestra, this final LP from the Birmingham band is a brilliant, heavy-pop swan song. Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne share songwriting duties, blending thick, fuzzed-out hard rock riffs with sophisticated, Beatles-esque vocal harmonies and eccentric production techniques. It stands as a masterful transitional document between classic 60s psych-pop and 70s stadium grandeur.
