Album Notes & Community Reviews
Julian Koster, a key figure in the legendary Elephant 6 collective, brings his highly eccentric, theatrical vision to his third album with The Music Tapes. The recording features an incredibly bizarre array of instrumentation, including singing saws, bowed banjos, and mechanical organs, resulting in a deeply anachronistic, vaudevillian aesthetic. The album is a profoundly emotional, beautifully lo-fi exploration of Americana, nostalgia, and childlike wonder.
