Album Notes & Community Reviews

With 'High Violet', The National perfected their brand of anxious, intricate indie rock for adults. Matt Berninger's baritone vocals detail social anxiety and domestic malaise over lush, orchestral arrangements. It is a dark, violet-hued record that cemented their status as critical darlings.
