The National is an American rock band known for its distinctive sound, which blends indie rock with post-punk and Americana influences. Formed by friends from Cincinnati, Ohio, who reconvened in Brooklyn, the band is defined by Matt Berninger's deep baritone vocals and introspective, melancholic lyrics, alongside the intricate, layered musicianship of two sets of brothers. After releasing their debut on their own #Brassland# label, they achieved widespread critical acclaim with albums like 'Alligator' and 'Boxer' on #Beggars Banquet#. Their success grew with 'High Violet' and 'Trouble Will Find Me', culminating in a Grammy Award for their 2017 album 'Sleep Well Beast'.
