Disquiet

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On the monumental triple album 'Disquiet', the Australian trio delivers four expansive improvisational pieces that stretch across more than three hours, marking a new pinnacle of their long-form explorations. The album is built on the deep, intuitive interplay between Chris Abrahams' piano, Lloyd Swanton's bass, and Tony Buck's percussion, creating hypnotic, slowly evolving structures that hover between minimalist jazz and experimental ambience. The production captures their live, single-take ethos with a raw intimacy that enhances the suave yet angular sound, with some tracks incorporating layered textures and found sounds that turn the studio itself into an instrument.
