Basket of Light

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Basket of Light' captures the band at their commercial and creative peak, solidifying their synthesis of British folk, blues, and progressive jazz. The album balances original compositions like the hit single "Light Flight" with inventive arrangements of traditional material, all performed on acoustic instruments. Shel Talmy’s production highlights the virtuosic interplay between guitarists Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, the intricate jazz-inflected rhythms of Danny Thompson and Terry Cox, and the pure, soaring vocals of Jacqui McShee.
