Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde' offered a refreshing and influential counterpoint to the dominant gangsta rap of its era, distinguished by producer J-Swift's lush, jazz-infused production that utilized a rich tapestry of live instrumentation and eclectic samples. The four emcees delivered their rhymes with a chaotic, street-corner energy, employing playful, self-deprecating humor and witty wordplay to explore themes ranging from adolescent misadventures and unrequited love to light social commentary, cementing the album as a landmark of alternative hip hop.
