Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut album 'Y' is a landmark work of avant-garde post-punk, fusing the genre's energy with deep funk basslines, free-jazz saxophone skronk, and jarring, dissonant guitar. Overseen by producer Dennis Bovell, the album's confrontational sound is defined by its experimental dub techniques and the visceral, politically-charged vocals of Mark Stewart, creating a volatile and influential statement that deconstructed rock conventions.
