Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a deliberate shift away from their sweeping classical-prog roots, the Danish collective embraced a grittier, gospel-inflected blues-rock sound on 'Refugee'[cite: 1]. The album strips back the complex orchestrations to highlight Annisette's astonishingly powerful, impassioned lead vocals against earthy rhythm tracks[cite: 1]. This roots-oriented transition reflected their growing involvement in the era's left-wing political and countercultural movements[cite: 1].
