Album Notes & Community Reviews

Attempting to match the studio excesses of the era, the gritty Los Angeles garage-rockers dramatically expanded their sound on their third studio album. Sky Saxon's manic vocals are submerged in a chaotic blend of fuzz guitars, orchestral strings, backward tape loops, and eccentric sound effects. While heavily criticized at the time for being overproduced, it is now celebrated as a wildly ambitious artifact of peak-era acid rock.
