Album Notes & Community Reviews

An ambitious 28-song double album, 'Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness' demonstrates the band's stylistic breadth, shifting between aggressive hard rock, orchestrated art-pop, and ethereal textures. Conceived by frontman Billy Corgan as a concept album on the human condition for "Generation X," its fusion of artistic scope with massive commercial success cemented the work as a definitive statement of 1990s alternative rock.
