Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Here Are The Sonics!!!' presents a foundational collection of 1960s garage rock, engineered with a raw, distorted aesthetic that pushed recording equipment to its limits. The album's primitive production, featuring a single drum microphone and significant audio bleed, underpins Gerry Roslie's searing vocals on fierce originals like "The Witch" and "Strychnine," alongside aggressive interpretations of R&B and rock and roll standards. This combination of sonic abrasion and high-energy performance established a crucial blueprint for the subsequent development of punk rock and grunge.
