The Sonics are an American garage rock band from Tacoma, Washington, formed in 1960. Gerry Roslie, Larry and Andy Parypa, Rob Lind and Bob Bennett made some of the rawest records of the 1960s — 'The Witch', 'Psycho', 'Strychnine' — for #Etiquette Records#, prefiguring punk by a decade. They split in 1968, reunited in 2007 and recorded 'This Is the Sonics' in 2015.
