Album Notes & Community Reviews

Anchored by the explosive, genre-defining hit 'Keep On Running', 'The Second Album' captures The Spencer Davis Group transitioning from pure blues covers to radio-ready blue-eyed soul. Steve Winwood, still a teenager, delivers astonishingly mature, Ray Charles-esque vocals and commanding organ performances that eclipsed almost all of their British R&B peers. It represents a creative zenith for the band's original lineup.
