Album Notes & Community Reviews

Capturing the raw, sweaty energy of their legendary club residencies, 'Their First LP' is a defining artifact of the British rhythm and blues explosion. Heavily reliant on American R&B and soul covers, the album is driven entirely by the astonishingly mature, Ray Charles-inspired vocals and heavy Hammond organ work of teenage prodigy Steve Winwood. It remains a gritty, fiercely authentic debut.
