Matt Elliott heavily manipulated frantic jungle breakbeats into deeply unsettling, extremely lo-fi walls of noise on his debut project. Splicing aggressive, distorted drum patterns with eerie, cinematic string samples and overwhelming guitar feedback, the Bristol producer effectively bridged the gap between post-rock isolation and darkside drum and bass. The relentlessly dark, abrasive recording pioneered an incredibly dense, terrifying iteration of experimental electronics.
