Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut mixtape by Canadian singer Abel Tesfaye, 'House of Balloons' was recorded in Toronto and released as a free download of nine tracks, with production chiefly by Doc McKinney and Illangelo alongside work by Cirkut and Jeremy Rose. Its alternative R&B programme sets Tesfaye's falsetto against dark, atmospheric arrangements and samples Aaliyah's 'Rock the Boat', Siouxsie and the Banshees' 'Happy House', Beach House and the Cocteau Twins, with 'Wicked Games' as his debut single.
