Album Notes & Community Reviews

Executing a shockingly abrupt stylistic shift, the pioneers of Norwegian gothic metal entirely abandoned their doom-laden origins for heavily synthetic, club-ready electronic rock. 'Musique' pairs bouncy, upbeat electropop sequences with heavily processed guitars and vocoder effects. Driven by Liv Kristine's robotic, pop-oriented vocal delivery, the futuristic, highly controversial album fiercely divided their established gothic fanbase.
