Moving rapidly away from standard Swedish death metal, Christofer Johnsson's project embraces an incredibly ambitious, operatic approach on their third album. The integration of traditional heavy metal, choirs, and esoteric Middle Eastern scales firmly laid the groundwork for their eventual status as symphonic metal pioneers.
