Biography
Therion are a Swedish band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1987 by Christofer Johnsson, the group's only constant member. Starting in death metal, they fused metal with choirs, classical soloists and full orchestration on albums including 'Theli', 'Vovin' and 'Secret of the Runes', effectively creating symphonic metal. Later works such as 'Gothic Kabbalah', 'Beloved Antichrist' and the 'Leviathan' trilogy, released by #Nuclear Blast#, draw on mythology, occultism and ancient traditions.
