Album Notes & Community Reviews
Christofer Johnsson fully realized his highly ambitious vision, seamlessly merging aggressive heavy metal riffing with massive operatic choirs and symphonic orchestration. This groundbreaking fusion completely moved the band away from their early death metal origins into unprecedentedly grandiose territory. Its massive success essentially crystallized the modern symphonic metal subgenre, paving the way for numerous operatic extreme bands.
