Completely devoid of guitars or standard rock rhythm sections, Third Ear Band's debut is an incredibly strange, deeply fascinating exploration of acoustic trance music. 'Alchemy' is wonderfully meditative and fiercely minimalistic, weaving highly spiritual, deeply atmospheric cello and oboe improvisations into remarkably mysterious, intensely psychedelic medieval folk.
