Biography
Third Ear Band were a London experimental group led by percussionist Glen Sweeney, formed in 1968. Their acoustic lineup of hand drums, oboe, violin and cello improvised music mixing raga, medieval and folk influences on the #Harvest Records# albums 'Alchemy' (1969) and 'Third Ear Band' (1970), and on 'Music from Macbeth' (1972), their score for Roman Polanski's film. Sweeney revived the band in 1988, and a second incarnation recorded 'Magic Music' and 'Brain Waves' before ending in 1993.
