Essentially giving a name to the genre they birthed, Throbbing Gristle released their debut as a deliberately hostile, deeply uncompromising assault on musical conventions. 'The Second Annual Report' is an incredibly scary, profoundly misanthropic exploration of industrial degradation, relying on painfully raw sound collages, cold electronic noise, and distinctly ominous avant-garde dread.
