Transitioning significantly away from the traditional black/death metal of their origins, Johan Edlund's project fully embraces a sprawling, gothic-influenced doom aesthetic. Characterized by the heavy incorporation of acoustic guitars, ominous synthesizer melodies, and clean vocal passages, the record heavily prefigured the mid-90s gothic metal boom.
