Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally self-released and sold largely via mail order, 'Songs by Tom Lehrer' introduced the Harvard mathematician's uniquely macabre, highly intellectual brand of musical comedy. Accompanying himself on piano, Lehrer delivers razor-sharp, rhyming dissections of nuclear anxiety, collegiate culture, and sheer sociopathy. The album became a massive, subversive cult hit and laid the groundwork for modern musical satire.
