Album Notes & Community Reviews

Further defining his signature persona of a raspy-voiced, street-corner beat poet, Tom Waits's sophomore album is an incredibly romantic, smoky jazz-club standard. 'The Heart of Saturday Night' weaves wonderfully mellow, profoundly melancholic piano blues arrangements with intensely poetic, beautifully nocturnal tales of alcohol-soaked urban loneliness.
