Album Notes & Community Reviews

Regarded as a historic achievement, this was one of the first albums to feature unaccompanied instrumental performances on the kora. Recorded over a single afternoon in London, the intricate, multi-layered playing style revolutionized international perception of West African classical traditions. The title itself translates to 'peace' in the Bambara language, reflecting the pastoral nature of the improvisations.
