Heavily expanding their rhythmic, post-rock foundations, the trio deeply embraced analog synthesizers and vocoders on their fourth LP, leaning heavily into a retro-futuristic aesthetic. The seamless blending of motorik drum patterns with heavily processed, robotic vocals established a distinctly mechanized, dystopian sound palette.
