Album Notes & Community Reviews
On their 2015 debut, Turnstile aggressively expands the boundaries of contemporary hardcore, eschewing genre purity to inject mosh-ready anthems with an undeniable swagger drawn from 90s alternative and funk. Will Yip鈥檚 crisp production highlights a rhythm section that prioritizes deep, elastic grooves over sheer velocity, creating a dynamic pocket for Brendan Yates's charismatic, rhythmically complex vocal delivery. The album channels a relentless surge of youthful angst and defiant energy, cementing the band鈥檚 status as innovators who valued infectious bounce as much as brute force, setting a new template for the genre.
