Labour of Love

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally conceived as a tribute to their favorite Jamaican artists, this collection of covers unexpectedly propelled the Birmingham group to massive international stardom. 'Labour of Love' features slick, highly accessible reggae-pop reinterpretations of classic rocksteady tracks, most notably Neil Diamond's 'Red Red Wine.' The smooth, synthesizer-tinged arrangements successfully introduced Caribbean rhythms to a vast mainstream pop audience.
