Album Notes & Community Reviews
Formed as a death metal supergroup, Umbra Vitae features Jacob Bannon of Converge alongside members of Wear Your Wounds and Hatebreed. 'Shadow of Life' prioritizes high-velocity tremolo picking and abrasive textures, deviating from the more melodic tendencies of Bannon's other projects. The recording was handled by Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studio, ensuring a dense, percussive sound that anchors the band's transition from hardcore energy to extreme metal precision.
