Album Notes & Community Reviews
As Unwound's final statement, 'Leaves Turn Inside You' is an ambitious double album that marked a significant departure from the band's post-hardcore origins. Recorded in their self-built studio, the production deliberately minimized distortion in favor of atmospheric textures, incorporating Mellotron, synthesizers, and intricate layering to craft a sound spanning art-rock, shoegaze, and post-rock. The album's sprawling and meticulously arranged compositions are guided by dreamlike, quasi-religious lyrical themes, cementing its legacy as a landmark, genre-defying work.
