Album Notes & Community Reviews
Compiled by Rob Allingham under the full title 'From Marabi to Disco: 42 Years of Township Music', its 20 songs run from Solomon Linda's 'Mbube' of 1939 to the disco era close of 1981. Dorothy Masuka, Dolly Rathebe with the Elite Swingsters and the Mahotella Queens trace the township line from marabi through kwela and mbaqanga, and Wrasse later reissued the program abroad as 'The History of Township Music'.
