Album Notes & Community Reviews

A concise and brilliantly executed concept album, 'FM!' is structured like a broadcast from a West Coast hip-hop radio station, complete with DJ drops and recurring skits. The album is a celebration of summertime in California, but beneath the upbeat, hyphy-influenced trap bangers lies Vince Staples' signature dark, nihilistic, and introspective commentary on the violence and death that pervade his environment. It's a masterful exercise in thematic contrast.
