Album Notes & Community Reviews
Emerging from a prolonged period of severe personal struggle, Zevon's comeback record bristles with renewed focus and biting, satirical wit. Backed heavily by three-quarters of R.E.M., the muscular heartland rock production serves as an ideal vehicle for his wry, cynical storytelling and sharp melodic instincts.
