Album Notes & Community Reviews

A defining document of the outlaw movement, the project relied heavily on the songwriting of Billy Joe Shaver, who penned all but one of the tracks. The stripped-down, bass-heavy production rebelled against the polished Nashville Sound, representing a fierce assertion of creative control for the performer.
