Marking the final recording to feature the legendary rhythm section of bassist Victor Bailey and drummer Omar Hakim, this album finds the jazz fusion pioneers leaning heavily into electronic textures. Joe Zawinul utilizes extensive MIDI sequencing and drum machines to create intricate, highly polished grooves. While lacking the raw improvisational fire of their 70s peak, it perfectly exemplifies their late-era synthesizer arrangements.
