Album Notes & Community Reviews
Notoriously receiving a controversial one-star review from DownBeat magazine upon release, 'Mr. Gone' found the premier fusion group prioritizing dense studio layering and overdubbed synthesizers above live interplay. The highly produced, atmospheric textures signaled a polarizing shift away from the fiery virtuosity of their earlier milestones.
