Album Notes & Community Reviews
Acting as a crucial transitional bridge toward their definitive, heavily grooving future, Weather Report began injecting serious funk and R&B elements into their avant-garde improvisations. 'Sweetnighter' is a fiercely energetic, highly rhythmic jazz fusion classic, balancing beautifully mellow, wonderfully warm synthesizer textures with incredibly playful, distinctly urban instrumental jams.
