Album Notes & Community Reviews
Born from a period of intense personal strife including divorce and substance abuse, Ween's 'Quebec' is a thematically dark and musically varied album that explores subjects of mental anguish and failing relationships. The record's sound, ranging from somber ballads to aggressive alternative rock, is defined by layered, psychedelic production from Andrew Weiss and the notable inclusion of session drummer Josh Freese. This shift in personnel and a return to an independent label resulted in one of the duo's most critically lauded and emotionally direct recordings.
