Biography
Ween is an American rock band known for its wildly eclectic and often irreverent approach to music, formed in 1984 by Aaron Freeman (*Gene Ween*) and Mickey Melchiondo (*Dean Ween*). Emerging from a lo-fi, home-taping background with albums like 'The Pod' and 'Pure Guava', the band signed to #Elektra Records# and gained wider recognition. Their style fluidly shifts between genres, incorporating elements of funk, soul, country, metal, and psychedelia. Major studio albums like the soul-influenced 'Chocolate and Cheese' and the nautical-themed 'The Mollusk' showcase their musical versatility and bizarre humor, cementing their status as an enduring cult act.
